Product description

This all-mountain ski jacket is for those whose favourite terrain is the slopes, but who struggle with the edges of pistes in fresh snow.

This jacket keeps female skiers and snowboarders warm and dry, so they can explore the resorts in all weathers. It ensures good freedom of movement both on the slopes and at the slope edges.

Description

This all-mountain ski jacket is for those whose favourite terrain is the slopes, but who struggle with the edges of pistes in fresh snow.

The 500 AM jacket features RECCO® technology to make it easier to locate you in the event of an avalanche.

RECCO® technology is used in the majority of ski resorts and increases the chances of being located in the event of an avalanche. The reflector, which is built into the jacket, can be located by rescue services via a detector. This should not replace responsible behaviour or the use of an avalanche transceiver.

Practical and comprehensive accessories for all your outings.

- 2 hand pockets - 2 chest pockets (inside and outside) - 1 inside mesh pocket - 1 ski pass pocket - 1 goggle wipe - Snow skirt - Ventilation zips - Handcuffs - Adjustable cuffs and hem - 3D adjustable hood is compatible with helmets - Goggle wipe

Highly waterproof (15,000mm Schmerber) and tested in real-life conditions.

The waterproof component and the assembly prevent water getting in. The seams are waterproof, and the zips are also waterproof and under a protective flap. This jacket has been tested in a special shower that reproduces the conditions of the ski resorts, and in the field for several days in different weather conditions.

Water repellent jacket, like all Quechua jackets.

A fabric's water-repellent property is its ability to let water slide off its surface without soaking in. The fabric doesn’t soak up water and so remains lightweight, breathable and warm. It is made from a treatment on the outside of the fabric, which must be renewed (every 3 washes).

A warm jacket without compromising on breathability.

Warmth is delivered where and when it's needed. It has 100g/m² of wadding on the body and 60g/m² on the arms. There are tightenings at the hem of the jacket, around the cuffs and by the hood, which prevents air, and therefore the cold, from getting in.

Breathable fabric and ventilation (essential for good breathability).

The RET, or the evaporative resistance of the material (ISO 11092 standard), is 12. The lower this rating, the more water vapour generated by the body evaporates. RET < 9 = extremely breathable 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable 12 < RET < 20 = breathable RET > 20 = little or no breathability.

The 500 AM jacket is designed with a membrane component.

This is a very thin polyurethane film that makes the material waterproof while remaining breathable. More flexible, lightweight, resistant and often more breathable than coating, which is less expensive and requires a protective lining, similar to paint applied to the inside of the fabric.

This product is repairable.

During the two-year guarantee period, if your product can be repaired (hooks, seams, zips, etc.), the repairs are done free of charge. Beyond this time period, they can still be done for a fee, locally in your usual shop.

WEIGHT

Between 860 g for XXS and 1.03 kg for the 4XL. 900 g in size M.

How should you dress under your ski jacket?

When skiing, we talk about the three-layer rule: A first thermal layer (ski base layer), a second layer (fleece or down jacket) and a third layer, your jacket. Adapt the second layer to suit the conditions, or take along a bag so you can take it off during the day.

How to restore the jacket's water-repellent properties?

The water-repellency of your jacket must be regularly reactivated (every three washes): over time, even if it remains waterproof thanks to its material, the jacket seems to start absorbing water. To do this, use a reactivating spray or a treatment reapplication product, and follow the tutorial in the customer service section of our website.

Wash and/or dry your ski jacket: following a specific protocol, you can improve its lifespan.

Close the zips, loosen the ties and read the instructions on the label. You can use a tumble dryer or leave to air dry, and finish off by using the hair dryer for five minutes (the heat helps with waterproofing). Find tutorials on our YouTube channel or our after-sales service website.
