How water repellent is the component in the reinforcement zones of the mt500 2-in-1 trousers?
These trousers have water-repellent inserts (front of ankle, buttocks) that let the water slide off the fabric\'s surface. Please note, this does not mean WATERPROOF. The water repellency prevents the trousers from getting wet too quickly. However, this won’t be enough to keep you dry if you’re in steady rain. To do this, you will need a pair of over-trousers like the MT500 model (ref. 8736465). Water repellency can be reactivated using a reactivating water repellent spray (ref. 8800346).
What accessories are available for the men’s mt500 2-in-1 trousers?
The MT500 2-in-1 trekking trousers are equipped with: - 2 zipped hand pockets; - 2 zipped thigh pockets (and 1 mesh pocket inside the right pocket); - 1 zipped back pocket. The trousers are elasticated at the bottom, so you can adjust them to fit perfectly over your shoes. The trousers are sold with a belt.

We recommend that you always wash your 2-in-1 trousers with the lower legs zipped up. This will ensure that normal product discolouration is uniform!
Why choose a hybrid construction for the mt500 2-in-1 trousers?
These trousers have been designed with 3 different components: - a durable fabric (198 g/m2) on the areas that need protection from abrasion (seat, bottom of the leg at the front). This fabric is also stretchy, enabling great freedom of movement; - a light and breathable fabric (145 g/m2) on the rest of the trousers; - a very stretchy insert in the crotch area (15% elastane).

These zip off hiking trousers are excellent. I've used them loads, including just as shorts for a recent holiday abroad. Loads of really practical pockets and the zips work well/have a nice light action. The pockets were so handy and meant I didn't need to take a bag out with me as could confidentiality statsh car keys, wallet, phone in the various pockets, all securely zipped in. The fabric is excellent and stretchy in all the right places and feels a good balance of lightweight but still robust. The legs have elasticated pull cords at the bottom meaning you can sinch them in a bit so you don't have loose flappy fabric, which i like as prefer a more fitted look and feel. To zip the legs on/off is easy enough and being able to do this without having to take hiking boots off was one of the reasons i went for these over others from other brands. These are such value and would definitely recommend without hesitation.
Very practical, work well and comfortable. I have used these for camping and hiking and would definitely recommend to others.
I love these pants. I bought them about a month ago and have used them at least 10 times for hiking, including multi day hikes and up mountains. The material is a bit thicker than my other hiking pants so they do take a bit longer to dry when they get wet but there great in colder and windy conditions and when it gets to hot you can just unzip the legs and turn them easily into shorts. There very comfy the pockets are a good size and the all of them have zips so you don't need worry about things falling out when you go scrambling.
