Suitable for occasional use, not for commuting

I have been using this scooter to commute to work 2km 5 days a week for the past 5 months. At the start the scooter was great but now is quickly falling apart. After 8 weeks of use I began having issues with the front suspension, it sounded like the spring had sheared with loud clicking when pressing on the front suspension and the forks bottoming out going over every bump, making for a very loud ride, the forks also had a lot of play moving forward, back and twisting side to side. I raised my concern to Decathlon, they requested I sent a video (20 Apr), but they have never replied. As this is essential for commuting I purchased and fitted a replacement fork from decathlon (after waiting considerable time for stock). Again this replacement fork has not lasted ( I made it 10 weeks ). Same issue again of the fork bottoming out when I stand on the deck, making a loud metal slapping sound when riding over the slightest bump alarming all around me. The most recent repair I recently carried out was on the folding mechanism the pin had bent in making it impossible for the scooter to locked close when folding, making the scooter difficult to carry. I am now at the point where I have to decide whether keep repairing this scooter every 2 months, or just give up on Decathlon and fork out for a micro scooter. Overall I wouldn't recommend the scooter to anyone apart from small children, as the scooter is not lasting when used according to the spec Decathlon themselves have set out ( suitable for travelling 2KM with a rider weight of 100KG) I weigh 80 KG well below the list 100KG rider weight and the scooter has needed 3 repairs in the past 5 months, the bearings are very poor quality, rusted within the first month of use I would recommend replacing with any good skate bearing and treating with an lubricant suited for use in wet environments ( look at MTB oils).

Disappointing manufacturing error

Bought it today at Southside Shopping Centre. Excited to use it but took it home, opened it up and found that the front wheel was not centralised. It tilted facing the side, not aligning with the handle bars. Which means if I go straight, it’ll go to the right. Now I have to wait a whole mother day or so, as it was the last one on the rack as well. Sad!!!

Oxelo Town 7

I’m really pleased with this scooter, it folds up nice and compactly and is easy to carry. Glad there is a brake on the handlebar as I needed it when I was doing 34km/hr going down a hill!!!

Solid scooter for taller people

A solid scooter that fits my 191cm, 100kg frame. Glides nicely and the dual suspension makes it very comfortable. Only negative is that the folding mechanism is a little fiddly to master.

Can't fault it

Comfortably fits my 8 year old and myself (6'3") well built and rides well. I have owned one for nearly a year and use it regularly, recently purchased a second one for my son's birthday

Great and comfortable

I’m 40 and bought this to go out with my 4 kids on their ones. It’s great quality and easy to use and not heavy. I’ve added a bottle holder and bell and been the envy of many a kid in the park when they’ve seen it. It’s more than 1/2 the price of the equivalent Micro brand and well worth it! Well done Decathalon! I feel 15 again!

Good all round scooter but hand brake is rubbish

I bought this to scoot around with my kids at the park/around town. It's decent and adjusts to a good height for other users. The downside for me is the hand break. It's not great - Gives just a minimum amount of drag, and if you hit the back wheel break and the hand break together, the hand break hardly tightens.

Are there any particular safety precautions to take when using the t7xl scooter?

You should always wear protective equipment (helmet, knee pads and elbow pads) when scootering. Most serious accidents take place during the first few months of use: spend time learning the basics so that you can control your speed and brake in emergency situations in all weather conditions.Stop use when the ground becomes slippery.

What is the glide performance of the oxelo t7 xl scooter?

We have equipped this adult scooter with large 200 mm HIGH BOUNCE PU rubber wheels. This makes it ideal for any journey. A large wheel makes it easier to build up speed with minimum effort. The ABEC 5 bearings are very high quality and, by making it easier for you to push yourself along, limit fatigue.

How should you maintain your scooter?

The wheels and bearings are parts that wear out. Remember to check them and change them if needed. You can repair and extend the lifespan of your scooter with spare parts that can be ordered through your local Decathlon store's Workshop.

Suspension for comfort

To meet your needs and provide maximum user comfort, the T7XL is equipped with two suspension systems: One at the front and one at the rear. These suspension systems greatly reduce the discomfort caused by uneven roads or pavements.

Brakes and mudguard: handy for town

The Oxelo T7XL scooter comes with a brake on the handlebar and a second brake on the back wheel. This second brake comes in the form of a long mudguard that covers much of the wheel.

How much does the t7xl scooter weigh?

5.6 kg.

What safety precautions should you take?

We recommend checking your scooter before and after each ride to ensure that there is no abnormal play and no cracks or sharp edges. The wheels and bearings are wearing parts. Remember to check them and change them if needed.

What should you do if there's play in the handlebar?

What with bumps in the road, repeated jarring, and vibrations, it's normal for certain parts to come loose. You can have all of the screws tightened at your local Decathlon workshop or do so yourself with the Allen keys provided (designed to fit all of the scooter's parts).

How are our products tested?

All of our scooters have been lab tested. These tests validate their compliance with the European standards for scooters, as well as their resistance to wear. As well as lab tests we do field tests - some measured and others based on the testers' opinions - to really put the product through its paces. The result is a tested, proven product.
