Pitching and dismantling

Traditional pitching and dismantling with poles. Follow the instructions stitched into the product’s cover. We recommend that 2 people pitch the tent.

Sun protection

The roof fabric has UPF 30 sun protection.Caution: be careful, as a large amount of UV rays can get in through a simple open door.

Ventilation

Three sides have an opening for better air flow. Each of the openings has a mosquito net to prevent insects from getting inside.

Wind resistance

We test all our living rooms in a wind tunnel on a turntable. The goal is to expose each side of our living room to the same wind intensity.Properly pitched, with the guy ropes deployed, this living room remains habitable in wind speed 6, measured at 50 km/h.

Waterproof and taped seams

We test our living rooms to validate their waterproofing. The first test is done in the laboratory, 3 hours under 200 litres of water per hour per sqm, equivalent to 200 mm tropical rain per hour. The second test is done in the field under real-life conditions by our teams. This living area is fitted with a polyurethane-coated polyester flysheet measuring 2,000 mm. It also has seams that have been waterproofed with heat-sealed strips, and a 140 g/sqm polyethylene groundsheet.

Repair

As designers and practitioners who love our playground, we care about the durability of our products. That's why all our tents are designed to be repairable. Spare parts and repairs for inflatable hoops are available at the workshop of your Decathlon store or on our website.

Poles and tent pegs

Poles - All our poles are made from fibreglass and undergo double quality checks. This guarantees some of the best resistance against breakage.Tent pegs - All our pegs are made of steel and have a diameter of 6 mm.

Good value

Bought this tent to dump our kit in while away in our campervan. It's packs away relatively small and light. Quick to erect and dismantle. Recommended.

Good product

Great value for money, would have another

Bought based on price, happily confused by reviews

I was looking for a camping/event shelter for a few years now. Didn’t have budget for some of the well know brands in the £200-£400 budget so did some online searching and this came up as available from Tesco superstore branch of Decathlon at Broadstairs whilst camping in Kingsdown near Deal in Kent. Partner and I purchased the tent on the Friday of our week stay so didn’t get to use it in good stable weather conditions and planned to use at our next planned stay in August (13-20th, Summer 2023). On returning back from the camping trip after purchasing the shelter, I did some research on this very website about the customer reviews and was confused about the total range of very good to very bad when customers have used the shelter in question. It does seem that more recent purchasers have had better experiences than those reviews listed a few years ago. Went ahead and set up the shelter; it took me and my partner less than ten minutes with straightforward instructions, illustrated and with decent quality pegs, guy lines and apparent quality of tent materials and construction. Entry options through a big flap, also usable as a fly sheet canopy, and also through a dedicated door, and the zippable mesh window features were all appreciated and impressive. Four days of hot sunshine, using it as living area outside of the main tent were very pleasant, the UV protection quoted about the roof seemed to be true and a break from the sun, very happy. Day 5 evening forecast was rain and 25mph winds…tbh I was a little worried about previous reviews of leaks and flimsy ness. We had constant heavy rain for about six hours overnight and blustery winds as promised… I didn’t check overnight but in morning zipped open the tent and to my delight the entire interior was bone dry, not a drop of moisture anywhere. I can highly recommend the shelter, maybe design changes have been made to manufacture process and materials but could not find fault with any of its design or features Am I only the one confused by the product build quality and reviews?
