What are the differences between nordic walking and hiking?

Nordic walking is performed with special walking poles on flat or gently sloped ground. These monostrand walking poles help propel your action and work your upper body more intensely.Hiking is done with adjustable walking poles that are used for holding position when climbing, and to avoid slipping when descending.

What are the special features of nordic walking poles?

Nordic walking is always performed using two walking poles for enhanced propulsion. Thanks to the gauntlets, you can take the walking poles in your hands or let them go without dropping them.Monostrand walking poles are lighter and don't bend when used. They absorb vibrations which spares your joints. The tip of the walking pole grips the ground to propel you forward. The detachable tips guarantee good grip on hard ground.

What are the benefits of nordic walking?

Nordic walking is good for overall fitness and can be enjoyed by everyone. It helps tone the body, improves breathing, is effective when it comes to weight loss and strengthens bones. As well as all the physical benefits, practising this outdoor sport also contributes to a feeling of well-being. For more information, please visit www.newfeel.com

Twa Blu Sticks

Bought as a gift, and have been used religiously for walks over the past month, with no complaints, so I'll take that as a PLUS+. Very handy very uneven/slippery conditions along with the occasional hills up or down, very light but, as a side, they do give your arms a work out as well, as your not used to moving them in that way. Good product.

Mis-sold

My poles arrived yesterday ready for my charity walk next week. To my horror...they do not collapse into 3 parts as pictured and totally unsuitable for travel. My local store is some 20mls away to which I will have to return these and I can guarantee there will not be other Nordic poles in stock there. What is your policy regarding this please? I am a new customer and totally unimpressed. I have not used them.

Propulse Walk 500 Poles

I have impaired mobility due to poor balance. Nordic walking has been a revelation to me as it gives me a feeling of freedom. These poles work really well for me as they don't have too much flex in them so are good at aiding balance but are still comfortable for longer outings. I can get plenty of power through my shoulders to propel myself along and feel steady and safe The handles are comfortable. However, I have only used them so far in cold weather while wearing gloves so I can't comment on how they cope with perspiration. The detachable gauntlets for me are an essential feature and work well for Nordic walking technique. They are also quick and easy to click in and out. The tips so far have done a good job of gripping soft ground as well as harder, stony paths and frozen mud. I haven't used the rubber paws much but they appear to be ok. How could these poles be improved? I think for the price they are great value. They provide a fun walk and look as though they'll last a long time. One thing I would like is to be able to buy spare gauntlets and interchangeable tips.
