Bad cassette

Have had to replace it twice now due to the small cog wearing down after a couple weeks of riding, poor build quality and a let down.

never used it unfortunately

In theory the 11-42T seemed like a good recommendation by Decathlon staff. Little did I know that not only was my active mid-cage rear mech not compatible with the overall capacity, but it lacked swing and hang depth too! A further few days of research into how to work around the issues that would still persist even with a new derailleur (Shimano RD-M4000 has a recommended max of 40T, but just about manages the capacity at 45) lead me to give up and get an 11-36T that was available elsewhere. It appears that for a bike with my setup etc that an 11-40T would be the max. Lastly, the 40T only picks up 1.5” on the 36T and the 42T only 3” extra, so it’s not even noticeable really. Would have loved to try it for real.

Parfait grands professionnels
