Product Reviews
Quick and Easy to set up, though the instructions for connecting the lines are a little vague. Decathlon do provide a video which makes it clearer than the diagrams on the kite bag, and once you've seen how to do it, it is simple (and very clever!). Once built, the kite wants to fly itself, so easy to get up in a light to moderate wind (coastal cliffs probably too windy). Just steer clear of people, buildings, power lines, kite-eating trees and animals, and this kite will stay up for hours. Looks great, makes that awesome noise when pulling against the wind, and you will get people watching. Not sure how well it will withstand a full speed crash into the ground, so get used to it before trying anything too funky, and this does pull hard, so maybe not for younger teens and below. Land the kite by bringing it low, left or right, and holding it steady until a drop in the wind lets you drop it gently. Dismantles easily and packs away neatly. Rewinding the lines is the most arduous bit.
I have previously owned the Feel'r 180 which is the first kite I've ever flown. After learning with this and having lots of crashes I upgraded to the Feel'r 500. I didnt really know what to expect as I'm not very experienced with kites. I was blown away, not literally of course. From the first take off it felt reassuring and stable. It's responsive but actually felt heavier and more forgiving than the 180. Even after just one flight I felt like I had progressed and was doing 360 and boxes with more and more ease. I thought the kite would be more difficult to control and less forgiving but I was pleasently surprised. I feel that this kite will allow me to progress and learn more tricks.
Excellent value for money, this kite really delivers, flies extremely well in all wind conditions, will pull hard in very high winds if a young pilot. I have many kites, some triple the price but love the way this looks in the sky and performs. Highly recommended
