As always from Decathlon, you get what you pay for. This bike is of great quality and more than does the job. It was easy to assemble and was up and working quickly. If I was to be supercritical I admit to not liking the resistance dial, but I knew what that was before I bought it. The seat is also quite high for those of us who are vertically challenged. (I am 5'8"). The addition of a computer would be great but would obviously raise the price.
I have rated this exercise bike one star because I have not been able to use it. The bike seat is small, hard and extremely uncomfortable. Despite buying two Gel seats, it made no difference. I am disappointed the amount I paid for it. I have see this bike every day in my living room as a trophy. Not
So far, so good. High tension, high cadence workouts daily with no problems. If, like me, you want to frequently change from relaxed pace sitting to standing sprints then changing the tension can require a few rotations of the knob, but thats my only complaint really. Another quality Decathlon product.
This is a good size and will fit a wide range of individuals. At 6’ this is good for me and can be set up to almost exactly match the stack reach and saddle height of my road bike so for me this is my indoor trainer. Switched out the saddle and added clipless pedals and good to go. Cadence meter under- reads by around 5rpm and the speed I’m pretty sure over-reads by around 7kph All said this is a solid piece of kit and a much cheaper alternative to a turbo trainer and ideal if you like spinning
This bike is ridiculously high to the point I can’t even get on it. I’m 5ft 4 so hardly tiny in height but I’m having to use a step ladder to get on, it’s very unstable and the amount of times I’ve nearly fallen when trying to get on is ridiculous. Will be returning, very poor product and complete waste of money.
Firstly, the bike is excellent and well worth it's value. Second, please can someone tell me how to get my heart rate strap and the cycling cmputer to link up so that I can see my heart rate (it shows this in the marketing photos but does not seem to work?). Is there an attachment needed? Is there a technical way to do this? Cannot find any information in the manual or online. Can you please help me Decathlon?
I had been haunting the online shopping halls for about 2 months waiting for spin bikes to come back in stock and pulled the trigger on this one when it was briefly back about 6 weeks ago. As a person who frequently goes to spin classes and uses a stationary bike as my main form of cardio this is fantastic. At 300 pounds it fortunately didn't break the bank compared to some bikes 3 times it's price. It is very sturdy, the 18kg flywheel is just right for somome that isn't a body builder but still excercises regularly and the the size is just right for my room. I already have a heart monitor so some of the lack of sensors don't bother me too much. I simply align the rpm on the supplied panel with my heart rate and resistance. Granted it would be far more useful to have watts but I can't complain at this price point. Do note that this is a spin bike. If you are looking for something to sit on for an hour and leisurely cycle your butt will not thank you afterwards! Like most proper spin bike routines your position should be alternating so for 5 to 10 minutes seated at any given interval I think the seat is perfectly adequate. This was one of my reservations looking at reviews before I purchased. My advice if you want to sit on this for long periods (20 mins plus) get a bike seat cushion, problem solved. If you spin regularly, don't want to anhilate your wallet and don't mind basic workout metrics...get it now!
For this to do spin classes at home... The 18kg wheel makes this a really good solid bike and a great alternative to the expensive bikes used daily for 2wks
I have had my bike for around four months now and I cant fault it, the bike is very good to use and it is also easy to operate. If you are thinking of buying a good quality indoor exercise bike I would definitely recommend one of these. Thanks Martyn Lynch
Great value for money feels just like a more expensive professional studio bike
Like many I was looking for a low impact cardio workout that I could do at home. I am very happy with this purchase. After 8 weeks of ownership, I can confirm the Domyos Biking 500 is very well built, the ride is smooth and the bike is sturdy. The tensioner has a good range allowing me to easily achieve a workout within a target heart rate zone. As others have said, the bike is quiet in operation and can be used in the early morning without waking others up. The mini computer is probably the weakest link with only the cadence (rpm) and duration showing useful information. The distance, speed and calories are not linked to the tensioner and the calories burned is pure guesswork without a linked heart rate monitor. On my unit the mini computer's display failed, Decathlon's customer service was excellent, they shipped me a new one with no further questions asked when I reported the problem via their website. I've paired mine with a cheap 8 inch tablet (less than £60 from the usual place) which sits in the holder nicely, Bluetooth headphones and a simple heart rate monitor. I've also sat the bike on a yoga mat. Two wishes for a future revision: a power metre and the ability to export/sync data via Bluetooth.
Very impressed.it was easy to assemble, simple clear instructions.it is very sturdy,no creaking or squeeking.great level of adjustment for different sizes in the family, from 6ft to 5ft2.only been using a few weeks and had half a dozen sessions,30-45 mins so can't really comment on build quality.
Really solid bike and after a lot of research I think this is great value compared to what else is available online. Only negative I would say - it would be really useful to know what resistance you're cycling at. Does anyone know what shoe clips click onto the pedals?
The machine is very sturdy and very good. Excellent buy (so far). Not so good part is the seat even with the seat cover (bought from Decathlon), its quite uncomfortable. I will look for an additional saddle. Couple of questions- 1) How accurate the distance and calorie counters are? 2) Is machine intelligent to calculate the calories based on the increased/decreased resistance level?
At a fundamental level, this is a good exercise bike. Sturdy, multi-adjustable, quiet and gives a smooth ride. The "computer" is a bit of a let down, and there's no Bluetooth. The saddle can be uncomfortable for some, but is replaceable. Over a good machine.
