Our hiking designers have designed this spare jacket to protect you from light rain during your country walks.
In what way is this jacket waterproof?
Your jacket is waterproof thanks to a special treatment applied to the fabric. This protection means it can withstand 5,000 mm of water, as if it can withstand a 5-metre column of water! What this actually means is that you stay dry in moderate showers for around an hour.
What is a breathable fabric?
A fabric that wicks away your sweat towards the outside during periods of physical exertion. This capacity is measured on the RET rating scale: the lower the score, the better. Your jacket has a RET rating of 12, which is a “breathable” level. The result? You stay dry, inside and out!
A jacket chosen to suit your level of exertion
This jacket is ideal for hiking with total peace of mind: 2 hrs maximum, at a moderate pace (5 km/hr), on flat terrain. Why this level of accuracy? The more you sweat, the more the fabric needs to be able to breathe! Otherwise, your sweat stays trapped inside your clothing, making you wet.
How can I maintain the waterproofing?
To keep your jacket waterproof for a long time, reactivate the protective layer every 3 washes, or after a dozen uses in the rain. It’s easy to do: 15 minutes in a tumble drier (on a synthetic cycle), or a blast with a hair dryer held 20 cm away. Your jacket gets its efficiency back!
How do you reactivate its water-repellency?
To keep your jacket waterproof in the rain, reactivate the protective layer every 3 washes (ensuring you rinse thoroughly), or after 10 uses in the rain. It’s easy to do: 15 minutes in a tumble drier, a blast with a hair dryer held 20 cm away, or an iron on a low setting without steam.

Fabric breathability
The fabric of this jacket is breathable: RET = 12.
Component breathability is measured by its thermal evaporative resistance (RET).
This is its capacity to let water vapour generated by the body during physical activity escape and therefore avoid water accumulating on the skin.
The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric.
RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabric
RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric
RET ≤ 20: little or no breathability
Choose your waterproof jacket according to your sports effort
This rain jacket has been designed for a 2-hour hike at a pace of 5 km/h max., without elevation gain.
During sports activity, the extent to which we perspire depends on the intensity or the duration of the physical effort If the breathability of the fabric is not adapted to your type of physical activity, the perspiration vapour condenses inside the jacket You will feel damp inside this is not rain coming through but perspiration vapour condensing You therefore need to choose a rain jacket according to your type of physical activity.
